Perfect Eye Care tips
I have something in my eyes!! We have all said this at lease once some time. We all know how uncomfortable it can become.
Fortunately, many common eye disorders disappear without treatment or can be managed by self-treating. Various products from artificial tears and ointments to ocular decongestants are available over the counter. These products can help with dryness, itching, or excessive watering of the eye. However, a word of caution, in some instances, what may seem like a minor eye problem may lead to a severe, potentially blinding condition.
Several forms of eye inflammation are present in todays pollution filled world. However, frequent eye exams can identify inflammatory problems early and reduce the potential for serious eye complications.
Common eye problems includes the following:
Care for your eyes
- After shower use a mild refreshing eyedrops to moisturise eyes from the drying effect of water. Then use a eye cream to moisturise and get rid of puffiness of the skin around eyes with a vitamin eyecream.
- Wear you glasses or contacts as the doctor told you.
- Eat healthy with plenty of fruits and veggies.
- Use anti-reflecting glasses if you use the computer.
- While you use contact lenses rinse your contacts every day with solution (10 seconds each) and check to see if they are in good shape. Also, make sure your hands are clean before taking out and putting contacts in.
- Sit straight at your workstation and rub your palms against each other till you feel them warm. The warmth of your palms helps soothe and relax tired eyes. Then, lightly cup your eyes with your palms and relax for 60 seconds. Count the seconds in your mind. Repeat this exercise two to three times whenever your eyes feel tired, or as often as you want.
- Keep two used tea bags in the refrigerator before you leave for work. Once you are home, place the tea bags on your eyes for a few minutes as you relax. This not only soothes tired eyes , but also reduces puffiness.
- Add a small pinch of salt in water and wash for bright and sparkling eyes.
- Mix tomato juice and lemon juice in equal quantity and apply around the eyes. After 30 minutes wash it off with cold and hot water alternatively.
- Make a paste of sandal wood and nutmeg. Apply the paste around the eyes before sleeping and wash it off in the morning.
- Crush a cucumber and take the juice. Add a little rose water and apply around the eyes and wash it after 30 minutes.
