Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are abnormally enlarged, bulging, bluish and or lumpy looking veins that are caused by poor circulation and or malfunctioning valves inside veins. The veins return blood back to the heart. Valves within the veins prevent back flow. Pooling of blood within the veins can cause them to expand, bulge against the skin, giving it a blueish tint. Poor diet (high protein, fat and starch) tends to cause poor high cholesterol, high blood pressure, poor circulation, varicose veins, etc.

The heart pumps blood throughout the body via its vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries. Arteries moves blood away from the heart. Veins carry blood back to the heart. Capillaries irrigate the tissues, skin, hair, nails, etc.
